Creating a Niche and Identifying Your Online Target Market (handout) Creating an e-commerce website is not merely the act of having the site developed and launched. Careful study and analysis plays an important role in identifying the target market and knowing how to attract it. Insight on potential customers helps in strategic positioning of your products and services. This topic was presented by Stephanie Caragos during the DigitalFilipino E-Commerce Summit last November 12 at Hotel Intercontinental, Makati City. Speaker Profile Stephanie Caragos is in the forefront of providing quality IT solutions in Northern Mindanao and an avid IT advocate all throughout the years. She is a graduate of BS Information Management in Xavier University, Cagayan de Oro and is a YSEI (Youth Social Entrepreneur Initiative) Fellow. With her business partners and team-mates, Stephanie established Syntactics Inc. providing IT solutions such as business applications development and implementation, website development, and online marketing. She also does consultative work for businesses wanting to launch e-commerce sites and expand their current brick-and-mortar market to a broader online reach. Her vision and advocacy is to provide job opportunities for IT professionals in Mindanao; deliver quality IT services for local and international clients. Through Syntactics, she started their social enterprise letIThelp.org that gives additional skills training and employment prospects to selected and qualified underprivileged IT graduates in Mindanao. Syntactics is a 50 man strong company and continues to grow with the hopes and vision of inspiring others, helping the youth, and local IT industry grow. True to the dictum of practicing what you preach, Syntactics has won for two consecutive times the corporate category of Digital Filipino Web Awards 2007 and 2008.
